In the last years of his life, Michelangelo scribbled "ancora imparo" ("still I am learning") in the margin of one of his sketches. In celebration of lifelong learning!
These are Glass Projects #4 and #5, the first pieces I made at home in my very own kiln. They are blocks of a traditional quilt pattern called "Crazy Amish Star". They are translucent but unfortunately I have not yet figured out how to photograph this kind of work successfully...

You can try back-lighting them, and using a camera without an automatic flash. If there's no way to turn the flash off, take the pic at an angle so that the flash bounces off the glass away from the camera (you'll get less hotspotting from the flash this way).
